TPC: TPC Myrtle Beach was host to the 2000 Senior PGA Tour Championship (won by Tom Watson) and is also home to the Dustin Johnson Golf School. Designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio and Lanny Wadkins, this picturesque Myrtle Beach golf course is carved out of environmentally protected Lowcountry marshland populated by large red oaks and towering pines. The native wetland is home to turkeys, deer, fox, waterfowl, and alligators.
The layout of the course has earned its accolades with good reason. Elevation changes, undulating greens, and Tour-caliber bunkers make for a deceptive and difficult course. Plan to use every club in your bag and expect any weakness in your game to be revealed.
TPC has become a group favorite over the past several years.
(7343 yards-143 Slope)
Barefoot Dye: At Barefoot Resort, Pete Dye set out to create something that would linger in the golfer’s mind forever.
The Dye Course is the only semi-private facility at Barefoot Resort. Bordering the natural white sands of the Carolina Bays, this visually stunning design is filled with the infamous pitfalls for wayward shots that have become synonymous with the Dye name. Both beautiful and treacherous, the Dye Course is an experience you won’t soon forget.
Pete Dye upholds his reputation of building memorable and challenging golf courses by creating a stunning design filled with his infamous pitfalls to capture errant shots.
The Dye Club was host to Big Break Myrtle Beach as well as Monday After The Masters hosted by Hootie and the Blowfish!
(7044 yards-148 Slope)
Tidewater: Nestled between the Intracoastal Waterway and Cherry Grove Inlet, Tidewater Golf Club delivers unmatched natural beauty and a layout that has beeen ranked amoun the nation's top 100 golf courses.
Tideater's stunning landscape leavees golfers raving long after they've returned home. While beauty is at the heart of the Tidewater experience, it's only part of what makes the property special. Tidewater's unwavering commitment to customer service and impeccable course conditions are the equal of the scenery, making this one of the best golf travel experiences in teh Southeast.
(7086 yards-140 Slope)
Arrowhead: Arrowhead Country Club in Myrtle Beach, a 27-hole masterpiece that stretches along the Intracoastal Waterway, features a canvas of Bermuda Fairways and MiniVerde Bermuda greens. Designed by the the team of Ray Floyd and Tom Jackson, the nine-hole golf courses are like three unique courses because of their use of diverse elevation changes in a setting surrounded by hardwood forests and wetlands. For groups interested, it is possible to play all 27 (usually at no extra charge).
The courses for 2023 are located less than 90 minutes drive of the Island Vista. Most are within 10 miles.

Due to the size of our group, we are planning on taking full size motor coaches to the courese each day. You will be responsible for getting to/from airport on your own. With Uber and taxi availablity, there is no need to reserve a rental car.
To make it easy and not have to collect money after each round, I will collect all of the betting money a couple of weeks before the trip. Typically we will be wagering for $50 per day/person. Depending on the group size, that could mean over $3k per day available for you to put into your g-string (or someone else's). You can look at last years Final Stats in the download section to see how everything is scored. The goal is that everyone takes home an envelope so that when you get home, you won't be lying when you tell everyone you were a "winner".
As you may have read above, you will be getting your handicap (aka starting points) and the begining of each round (your handicap/starting pts will be adjusted daily). You will then earn points throughout the round to end up with your total stableford score. There are no negative points so double bogies or worse are 0, Bogies+1, Par +2, Birdie +4, Eagle +8, ACE +16. The person who earns the most points during the round will be the GROSS winner and the person who earns the most points PLUS their starting pts will be the NET winner. I take care of all scoring and daily handicap adjustments. We typically pay 6-8 spots for both gross and net per day with 1st place paying out over $300!
By recording your gross score, I am able to figure out both gross and net skins for the group. Typically the daily skins pot will be $300-$500 for both the gross and net skins.
There will be daily closest to the pins contests for each Par 3. Since we have groups going off both the front and back, we have seperate contest for each. Ball on the green (not fringe) and doesnt matter what you score on the hole. Typically each pin shot pays $40-$50 each.
New for 2023 we will also have a blind net best ball contest. I will chose someone each day to determine what the rules for the next days contest will be. Teams will be paired by a random draw out of a bucket of death. Teams can be 2, 3, or 4 man and each hole can be adjusted. Maybe best 2 balls on Par 3, and 1 BB on the 5's. Can do any combination and change it up each day. Will pay $300 for 1st and $100 for second. If this doesn't work-blame Russ!
Since there hasn't been a hole in one on the trip in over 20 years, I have recently set up a bank account which will be added to each year with the proceeds going to anyone who gets a hole in one during the four rounds of the MBI. To start the fund, $20 per person will be collected each year. If we would have started doing this from the start, the pot would easily be over $15k!
To say its been a while since our last hole-in-one would be an understatement! The last hole in one for the MBI happened way back in 1996. Therefore, a portion of the betting pool will now go towards the Folds of Honor Hole In One Fund each year. You can find more details on how the Hole In One fund will work on the Wagers pdf in the download section.
Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided 44,000 life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military. And now, the mission expands to the families of America’s first responders. As many of you know, I am supporter of the great work the Folds of Honor does and glad we will be able to help continue their great work. To learn more about the Folds of Honor, please click HERE!

With any group this size, there will inevitably be occasions were someone will have to bail at the last minute. It is the policy of the resort that by submitting your deposit, you agree to be responsible for the entire cost of your trip-not just forfeiting your deposit!
Given enough notice (3 weeks or more), I can "usually" work something out with the resort or find someone on the waiting list to fill your spot. If I can't find a replacement, you would still be responsible for the condo portion (usually <$125 per night) and will be issued rain checks for the unused rounds of golf. These rain checks tyipcally do not expire for a decade or more. I can hang on to these for future trips or send them to you so that can use these on your own. You also can transfer/sell to one of the regulars who can have it applied towards their trip the next time we play this course.
Any cancellaitions made less than 3 weeks prior, may also be responsible for your share of the transporation as this is split evenly amoung the group and collected several weeks ahead of time. Please let me know if you have any questions prior to submitting your deposit!
Video of the first Myrtle Beach Airshow which took place directly over Arrowhead CC while we were there for the day in 2018. AMAZING!
